Media@91丝瓜视频, the 91丝瓜视频 Institute for the Study of Canada, and the McCord Museum present a two-day symposium on photojournalism on November 1 and 2, 2012 at the McCord Museum, 690 Sherbrooke Street West. With a line-up of international speakers from both the academic and professional spectrum, Photojournalism: Then & Now explores the history of photojournalism, with a particular focus on Canada, on the first day of the symposium; while the second day is dedicated to the role played by photojournalism, within a changing digital landscape, in the media representation of 21st-century warfare. The event is free and open to the public.

Thierry Gervais is a faculty member in the School of Image Arts at Ryerson University and Head of Research at the Ryerson Image Centre. He is the editor-in-chief of the journal 脡tudes photographiques and the author of La Photographie (with Ga毛lle Morel) and several other works on photography.
