CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: McCutcheon Fellowship

We are pleased to announce a 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ-wide call for applications for the David McCutcheon Fellowship in Pediatric Palliative Care.Ìý Applications are due May 20, 2011 for funds to be taken up by September 2011.

GOAL OF THE FELLOWSHIP

This 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Graduate Research Fellowship has been created to build research capacity in pediatric palliative care. The value of this award is $15,000 per year, for up to two years.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, applicants must be applying to, or already enrolled in, a full-time graduate degree program at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ University. While Masters-level applications are welcomed, Doctoral applications are preferred.

This Fellowship cannot be held in addition to an external fellowship over $10,000 (e.g., SSHRC, CIHR, FRSQ). Holders of this Fellowship are required to apply for external fellowships during tenure of the award.

Please note: If desired, co-supervision with a pediatric palliative care expert may be available for the successful applicant upon request.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS

The next deadline for applications will be May 20, 2011 for funds to be awarded in September 2011.

APPLICATION PROCESS

To apply, please submit electronically to the address below: (1) a copy of your CV; (2) a ½ page description of your achievements vis-à-vis pediatric palliative care (if relevant); (3) a two-page description of your proposed research (up to one-page additional for references); (4) a one-page description of your supervisor or intended supervisor and research environment (co-written and signed by your supervisor or intended supervisor); and (5) a ½ page description of how your research will ultimately promote clinical excellence in pediatric palliative care. (All documents except CV should be Times New Roman, 12 font, with 2cm margins)

In addition, please ensure the following hard copies are mailed to the address below: Ìýofficial university transcripts; two confidential letters of reference (each in a signed, sealed envelope; from within 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, these can be sent via internal mail).

Please note: Short-listed candidates will be invited to the Montreal Children’s Hospital for an interview.
