Published: 24 September 2004

Get out your 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ umbrellas! Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to take part in the 2004 Centraide March of 1,000 Umbrellas on September 29.

"We hope the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ community joins the march en masse, since the University is one of Centraide's biggest institutional supporters," says Dean of Law Nicholas Kasirer, co-chair of 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's 2004 Centraide Committee along with Judy Dear, Janet Arts (incoming) and Kate Maguire (outgoing).

91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ marchers will meet at the Roddick Gates at 11:30 am. Nearly 8,000 Montrealers are expected to march towards Complexe Desjardins, where Centraide's 2004 campaign objective will be unveiled.

The 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ 2004 Centraide Committee, for its part, hopes to raise $275,000 by December.

Centraide is an "umbrella" organization that supports over 325 community agencies. Pledges are welcome at www.mcgill.ca/centraide.
