Two students from the Faculty of Education have earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:

Rasel Babu, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received a 91˿Ƶ Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for their research topic: "Pedagogues' Readiness to Integrate Educational Technology for Teaching Language and Mathematics in Bangladeshi Secondary Classrooms."

91˿Ƶ's Faculty of Education and theOffice of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) had a total of 46 graduates (16 deferred from Summer 2023 and 30 in 2023-2024) participate in the Summer 2024 convocation in the following programs:

  • 16 Graduates deferred from Summer 2023
  • 1 Certificate in Aboriginal Literacy in Education from (Cree School Board)
  • 15 Certificates in Education for First Nations and Inuit (Cree School Board)

Working Nation, a US-based organization working to highlight career/technical education and vocational training across the country asked Dr. Michael Lipset (DISE) to appear on their video-based YouTube series highlighting workforce efforts in education.

Filmed at SXSW EDU 2024, the video was one of a series of guest spots they filmed throughout the week and covers 4 Learning’s approach to school change, which includes vocational training in the recording arts, business of music and media, and other creative endeavors.

Her troupe of trained therapeutic clowns bring comfort, compassion, and plenty of laughs to hospitalized children and seniors in care facilities.

Two members of the Fall 2024 cohort of will begin their funded Master’s studies at 91˿Ƶ’s Faculty of Education. Designed to encourage purposeful leadership, the scholarships enable students to pursue a funded degree while participating in mentorship, coaching, and a leadership development program.

Recipients were chosen based on exceptional character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.
