Two students from the Faculty of Education have earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:

Rasel Babu, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received a 91丝瓜视频 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for their research topic: "Pedagogues' Readiness to Integrate Educational Technology for Teaching Language and Mathematics in Bangladeshi Secondary Classrooms."

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Gender disparities persist glaringly around the globe with gender-based violence standing out as one of the most widespread human rights violations. Alarmingly, only 52 per cent of women who are married or in a union freely make their own decisions about sexual relations, contraceptive use, and health care. The United Nations has identified transforming harmful gender norms as a critical goal among its 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Dear members of the Faculty of Education Community,

I am so proud and excited to begin my term as your Dean (as of June 1, 2024). In this first message, I wanted to share with you my vision for our Faculty and tell you a bit about my background.

Working Nation, a US-based organization working to highlight career/technical education and vocational training across the country asked Dr. Michael Lipset (DISE) to appear on their video-based YouTube series highlighting workforce efforts in education.

Filmed at SXSW EDU 2024, the video was one of a series of guest spots they filmed throughout the week and covers 4 Learning鈥檚 approach to school change, which includes vocational training in the recording arts, business of music and media, and other creative endeavors.

91丝瓜视频 News recently published an article featuring Faculty of Education Alumni, Melissa Holland, BEd鈥�98, the co-founder and co-artistic director of the Dr. Clown Foundation.

Her troupe of trained therapeutic clowns bring comfort, compassion, and plenty of laughs to hospitalized children and seniors in care facilities.

Two members of the Fall 2024 cohort of will begin their funded Master鈥檚 studies at 91丝瓜视频鈥檚 Faculty of Education. Designed to encourage purposeful leadership, the scholarships enable students to pursue a funded degree while participating in mentorship, coaching, and a leadership development program.

Recipients were chosen based on exceptional character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.
