The Office of Sustainability is recruiting Sustainable Events Consultant for the 2019-2020 academic year!

As a volunteer with the Sustainable Events Consultant team, you will liaise with event organizers in the 91˿Ƶ community to ensure that they are organized in the most sustainable way possible. By utilizing both online and print resources, you will help event organizers gain access to knowledge about sustainable resources, and help ensure best practices at events.

On June 23 a group of 91˿Ƶ Medical students will host YogAuction, an outdoor yoga event and silent auction taking place at 91˿Ƶ’s Percival Molson Stadium between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Funds raised from the event will go directly towards (CCC), whose mission is to create victories for Canadian children with cancer through investment in national and collaborative research, educational and community programs.

With a passion for fundraising and volunteering, in 2014 Olivia Monton created her own foundation, known as, to support local and grassroots charitable organizations in Montreal. Currently a second-year medical student at 91˿Ƶ, Olivia is also involved in several student-led committees, which allow her to contribute to the improvement of medical education and simulation-based training for medical students, in addition to promoting interdisciplinary collaboration between various healthcare professions.

, a program developed and implemented by 91˿Ƶ Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry students was recently selected as the recipient of this year’s 91˿ƵAward for Equity and Community Building as a co-recipient in the Team category. The awardrecognizes the work of students, faculty and staff committed to advancing equity, inclusion and community engagement at 91˿Ƶ.

The revamped MDCM curriculum introduced a few years ago at 91˿Ƶ includes a change in structure that offers medical students clinical exposure earlier in their studies. While welcomed and appreciated, the earlier timeline created an increased desire among students for more resources that could be used for autonomous learning.

C.A.T.C.H hopes to increase access to vaccinations among vulnerable populations

One of three inaugural projects supported by, the health-related incubator launched last year by a group of 91˿Ƶ medical students, the Community Ambassadors to Conquer HPV, or C.A.T.C.H hope to contribute, as their name implies, to conquering HPV.

Social Leadership, Entrepreneurship, & Sustainability – Perspectives from Israel

The new study trip will be offered in the Winter 2018 semester as: ORGB 434 Topics in OB. This is a 3-credit course with 3 meetings taking place prior to the trip in March during the study break. The trip itself will be during the March 3-11, 2018 study break. The class is open to all 91˿Ƶ students.

For over two decades, the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) has invested in the most important Library needs of the undergraduate student body in order to enrich the student academic experience. This fund is administered by the Students’ Society of 91˿Ƶ (SSMU) and is made up of a fee contribution of $8.50 per full-time student per semester, matched equally by alumni donors. The LIF goes towards 24hr library access, student employment, study spaces, Open Educational Resource Research, and a variety of other special projects.
