Fall Semester: Providing Safe and Supportive Opportunities for Learning

Dear Friends of the Faculty,

With the vast majority of courses now being offered remotely, the fall semester is off to a good start. Faculty and staff have begun working on-campus on a rotating basis to provide Education students with the academic and administrative support they need. Ensuring student safety and offering a high-quality education will remain my top priorities as we move through a semester like no other.

Pauline Lantz Smith Helps Address Teacher Shortage

With the changing landscape of Canadian schools, student teachers pursuing their Bachelor of Education at 91˿Ƶ are being offered the opportunity to specialize in teaching French Immersion. “Just because someone is fluent in French does not mean they can teach French as a Second Language,” says Dr. Sheryl Smith-Gilman, Assistant Director of Undergraduate Teacher Education Programs.
