Standard Operating Procedure for the Film developer
NOTE: The Film Developer must be turned off and drained daily!
- Richard Arthur will be turning the machine on around 8:30 AM Monday-Friday.
- The machine takes approximately 15 minutes to warm up.
- Do not use while the red indicator light is blinking.
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý *** Red light is covered with tape because it is too bright otherwise - Users needing the machine earlier or on the weekend will be responsible for turning on the machine (if on the weekend, ensure that it get turned off - See instructions below).
- Shan Hong Zhang will turn off and drain the machine at approximately 4:30 PM Monday to Friday.
- Users wanting to use the machine later should leave a note on the white board located on the door of the dark room.
Indicate:
1. Your name
2. Lab (PI and Rm #)
3. Date
Ìý - Users making this request will be responsible for turning off the machine (See instructions below).
Operating the machine
- Film must be fed against the back wall of the machine, sensor will not function otherwise
- Red light keeps blinking until it is safe to turn on the lights (wait for solid red light, and maybe give it a few more seconds!)
- Only feed one film at a time!

Turning on the machine
- Turn the power switch to on
- Close the drainage valve (see picture), no water should be draining into the sink (during the warm up period, it will occasionally during use)
- Warm up until the blinking red indicator light stops blinking

Turning off the machine
- Turn the power switch to off
- Open the drainage valve (see picture), make sure water is draining into the sink.
