Job Opportunities

Student Accessibility and Achievement hires students to take notes in class for students who qualify for Paid Notetaking through one of our subsidy partners. Preference is given to students who are currently registered in the course where a note-taker is required. You can also sign up to be a volunteer note provider through the Note Provider (to GIVE notes) module in .

Tutor

Apply to be a tutor with our Tutor Matching Program! You can sign up if you have an overall CGPA of at least 3.2 and have already passed the course you wish to tutor with at least an A-.  Sign up using our “Become a Tutor” form!

Peer Leader (Workshop Facilitator A)

Apply to be a Peer Leader with our Learner Support Programs! Peer leaders work with our office's Learner Support Specialists to facilitate our peer programs, including Thriving in Action, Peer Assisted Learning, and Peer Mentoring.

Invigilator

Sign up to be an invigilator! Shifts are available throughout the year and can be full-time during the final exam periods in December and April. Invigilators are responsible for ensuring the fair and proper conduct of examinations within Student Accessibility and Achievement. Invigilator tasks include taking attendance during exams, ensuring exam security, and reporting incidents and/or misconduct during exams.

Exam Coordinator

Exam Coordinators are responsible for ensuring the fair and proper conduct of examinations within our office. Exam coordinator tasks include acting as a liaison between invigilators, Student Accessibility and Achievement, and instructors, as well as supporting with exam packing during peak periods. Shifts are available throughout the year and can be full-time during the final exam periods in December and April.

Scribe

Scribes act as the student’s “writer” during an exam. They must write down what the student says verbatim and provide the physical support necessary for the student to complete their exams. Shifts are available depending on student need.

Reader

The purpose of a Reader is to be a human “voice” to all exam text during an exam. They are to read the exam materials aloud and provide the reading support necessary for the student to complete their exam. Shifts are available depending on student need.

Attendant (Workplace Access Assistant)

Attendants are hired to help ensure students have equal access on campus. They are responsible for the daily work and personal assistance of a student requiring disability-related supports. This includes providing assistance in performing physical student-related tasks, including but not limited to moving from one location to another, attending classes, as well as ensuring the physical well-being, hygiene, and safety of the student with a disability.

Volunteer Peer Mentor

Our Peer Mentoring Program is designed to enrich the university experience of students registered with Student Accessibility and Achievement. Volunteer Peer Mentors meet with students on a weekly, ongoing basis to support learning and empower students to achieve their academic goals.

Volunteer Note-Sharer

Note-sharing helps to address disability-related barriers that impact some students' ability to take comprehensive notes while fully engaging in the classroom experience. Any student can sign up to be note-sharer. If we do not already have a note-provider in our system, we will also recruit volunteer peer note-sharers by reaching out to classes where one is needed.
