DCL student Julie McCann wins APDQ prize

Doctoral candidate Julie McCann has won the 2009 Prize for best master’s thesis from the Association des professeurs de droit du Québec (APDQ). Her work, titled "La prescription des créances: à la croisée du droit substantiel et du droit processuel", was written under the supervision of Prof.  Michelle Cumyn (Laval U.). She will receive the prize during the annual APDQ congress on April 17, 2010.

Her thesis will also be published by Wilson & Lafleur in its Collection Bleue, under the title Prescription extinctive, délais extinctifs et fins de non-recevoir en droit québécois.

McCann, who already has published a half dozen articles, holds several doctoral prizes, including the Hydro-Québec doctoral prize for Law. Her current doctoral project, supervised by Prof. Jean-Guy Belley, focuses on public-private partnership contracts. Julie McCann is also an instructor at the Faculty of Law.
