The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that the Quebec Division of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA-Quebec) has awarded its Paul-André-Crépeau Medal to Wainwright Professor Emeritus of Civil Law Pierre-Gabriel Jobin, Ad E. The medal was presented to him by Jonathan Pierre-Étienne, president of the CBA-Quebec, on 5 December, after an introduction by Dean Robert Leckey, Ad E.
The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce that Professor Alicia Hinarejos has been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Law. Her three-year appointment began on 1 September 2024.
Granted by the European Commission, these prestigious chairs aim to enhance teaching and research in European Union (EU) studies at higher education institutions worldwide. Professor Hinarejos becomes 91˿Ƶ Law’s second Jean Monnet Chair holder, following in the footsteps of the late Professor Armand de Mestral, CM.

As of Monday, December 1, 91˿Ƶ students are able to access theNahum Gelber Law Library24 hours a day, seven days a week.As agreed between the Students' Society of 91˿Ƶ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 2 to 20 examination period.

The Faculty of Law is delighted to share that Professor Rosalie Jukier was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal. She was presented with the award by the Hon. Marc Gold, PC, Government Representative in the Senate, at a ceremony held on 27 October.
Created to mark the coronation of King Charles III, this medal recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canada, a province or community, or attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Alana Klein has been appointed co-director of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP). She began her three-year appointment on 1 July 2024, succeeding Professor Frédéric Mégret, who completed his term as co-director in June.
Professor Nandini Ramanujam was reappointed as co-director and program director for a three-year term, starting 1 July 2024.
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Michelle Cumyn will join the leadership team of the Paul-André Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law. She will team up with current director Professor Mark Antaki, BCL’96, LLB’96, who has been at the helm of the renowned centre since 2020. They will serve as co-directors until 2026.

Elected by their peers, fellows of the RSC are distinguished Canadians from all branches of learning who have made remarkable contributions in the arts, the humanities, and the sciences, as well as in public life. Professor Weinstock was elected to the RSC’s Academy of Arts and Humanities.
