Khalil Anchouche, MDÌý

Khalil is a sixth-year Cardiology resident at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ enrolled in the Clinician Investigator program with FRQS salary support. He is currently completing a MSc in Experimental Medicine at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ under the supervision of Dr. George Thanassoulis. Prior to this, he graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Math and Cornell Medical College with his MD before returning to 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, where he completed his Internal Medicine training. His research interest lies at the intersection of cardiac imaging, genomics, and preventive cardiology.

Tevy Chan, MD

Tevy recently completed her residency training in Geriatric Medicine at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. She is currently in the Clinician Investigator Program and pursuing a Master's degree in Experimental Medicine. Tevy is supervised by Dr. Pedro Rosa-Neto and Dr. Claire Godard-Sebillotte. Her current project involves evaluating the clinical utility of blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer's diagnosis and management in geriatrics clinics.

Jean-Pierre Falet, MD, MSc

Jean-Pierre is a neurology resident with an interest in multiple sclerosis. As part of the Clinician Investigator Program, he obtained an M.Sc. in neuroscience from 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ in 2023 and is now a doctoral student in computer science at Mila - Quebec AI Institute/University of Montreal. His research focuses on using machine learning for precision medicine and scientific discovery in multiple sclerosis and developing innovative AI systems inspired by the human brain to achieve human-level performance on clinical tasks.

Olivia Ganescu, MD

Olivia is a resident in the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ General Surgery Program, pursuing a Master’s in Epidemiology at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ as part of the Clinician Investigator Program. Alongside Dr. Jeffrey Barkun, her clinical research interests include whether prophylactic intra-operative biliary stenting during orthotopic liver transplantation can help decrease the risks of post-operative adverse events, including graft loss, biliary strictures, and leak rates.

Frederic Grou-Boileau, MD

Frédéric is a third-year general surgery resident at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Clinical Epidemiology. His goal is to help improve the perioperative experience of patients. This year, he will look at the financial impact of surgery on patients (resulting from uncovered medical expenses, lost productivity, etc.), an aspect of surgical care that has been poorly described so far. He is also interested in exploring how understanding the financial implications of treatment alternatives can then influence patients’ medical decisions. His aim is to help shared decision-making between doctors and patients by portraying the full implications and effects a surgery can have on someone’s life.

Luke B Harrison, MD, PhD

Luke is a resident in the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Clinical Investigator Program, having completed residencies in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Health Centre. He completed his PhD in Evolutionary Biology at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and is currently pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship at INRS Armand-Frappier Sante Biotechnologie Research Centre. He is co-supervised by Dr Frederic Veyrier at Armand-Frappier and Dr Marcel Behr at the MUHC. Luke's research interests lie in mycobacteria and the evolution of pathogenesis in this group of clinically important bacteria. He uses a multidisciplinary comparative approach to investigate the emergence and evolution of pathogenesis in this group, employing bioinformatics, genomics, metagenomics, as well as traditional laboratory techniques.

Karel Huard, MD

Karel is a General Internist and Critical Care Medicine fellow. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Experimental Medicine. His research interests include the role of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in critical care medicine, venous congestion in critical illness, and congestive heart failure.

Angela Kim, MD

Angela is a vascular surgery resident at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology through the Surgeon Scientist Program. Her research focuses on limb salvage and amputation prevention in individuals with diabetes and peripheral arterial disease.

Alexandra Ladouceur, MD, PhD

Alexandra is a rheumatologist who graduated from 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and completed the MD-PhD program at Université de Montreal. She is now enrolled in the postdoctoral stream of the Clinician Investigator Program. Her main research interests pertain to optimizing outcomes of inflammatory arthritis induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors, a novel and increasingly used treatment for cancer.
