Graduate student Kelvin I. Afrashtehfar awarded prestigious fellowship from the ITI Foundation

Congratulations to Kelvin I. Afrashtehfar who was recently awarded a one year scholarship from the International Team for Implantology Foundation. He will be an ITI Scholar during the 2016/17 academic year at the University of Bern in Switzerland under the supervision of Drs. Daniel Buser and Urs Braegger. Every year ITI awards 25 scholarships to promising young clinicians to help develop future leaders in implant education and the ITI. The goal of the scholarship is to help young clinicians further their training in implant dentistry and related treatments, and also to foster international exchange along with professional networking. The scholarship centre at the University of Bern involves the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology, the Department of Periodontology and the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics. The centre treats roughly 700 patients annually with more than 1000 implants inserted covering the whole spectrum of patients according to the SAC classification. The postdoctoral training at the three departments is closely coordinated to transfer the comprehensive spectrum of implant therapy. For full information on the scholarship and the ITI see .
