DISE Professor Bronwen Low and Second Year B.Ed Student Jana Naguib Featured in Our Schools/Our Selves

In the latest issue of Our Schools/Our Selves, two articles were published related to Law 21.

One is a first person account written by second year B.Ed student Jana Naguib on her feelings about the Law as a Teacher Education student who wears hijab.

The other, co-authored by DISE Professor Bronwen Low and colleagues with the OFDE, reports on the findings of a province-wide survey on the impact of Law 21 on faculties of education.

Seminar in Special Topics: Introduction to Professional Engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada

An introduction to key considerations in professional engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples. In the pursuit of professional careers in education, counselling, research, and other sectors, students will learn to respectfully engage and work with Indigenous populations in a culturally safe manner that strives to be consistent with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s calls to action.
