The Division groups over 280 members (both Faculty and Associate members) whose areas of interest are wide-ranging and diverse. In addition, the Division includes over 380 graduate students enrolled in one of the 8 programs presently being offered. These programs are:
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Experimental Medicine
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Experimental Medicine, Environment Option
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) Experimental Medicine
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) Experimental Medicine, Bioethics Option
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) Experimental Medicine, Digital Health Innovation Option
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) Experimental Medicine, Environment Option
- Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research (for Canadians and permanent residents ONLY)
- Graduate Certificate in Regenerative Medicine (for Canadians and permanent residents ONLY)
Additional information about the individual programs can be found HERE.
Applicants for the Ph.D. program must normally hold an M.Sc. degree. However, candidates who have only a B.Sc. degree but who have demonstrated academic excellence (cGPA of 3.7 out of a possible maximum of 4.0 throughout their undergraduate studies) can be considered for direct entry into the Ph.D., if they so desire. These candidates should clearly indicate (on the application form) that they are seeking entry into the Ph.D. program rather than the M.Sc.
Applicants for the M.Sc., M.Sc. (Environment Option), Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research, or Graduate Certificate in Regenerative Medicine must hold a B.Sc. degree or its equivalent.
Applicants for the M.Sc. (Bioethics Option) program must hold an M.D., Nursing, Physical and Occupational Therapy and/or any other professional health training degree. Students who do not fit these criteria may be considered for admission on an individual basis.
Applicants for the M.Sc. (Digital Health Innovation Option) program is open to those with health professional or informatics/ computer science/ data science/engineering/quantitative basic science undergraduate training. A minimum GPA of 3.2 is required to be admitted to the program as well as evidence of successful completion of a CEGEP or higher-level course in calculus or advanced math.
Applicants for the M.Sc. or Ph.D. program who wish to undertake a double program (M.Sc. or Ph.D. combined with a Medical Residency or Fellowship) must be already admitted to a PGME Program at 91˿Ƶ (Residency/Fellowship/CIP). Students must meet the admission requirements for the M.Sc. or Ph.D., and submit all necessary documents by the application deadlines. In addition, students must obtain the support of both programs (EXMD + PGME/CIP) and their supervisor for graduate studies before undertaking a double program.
