Students transferring from another university or completing a second degree
Students who have taken university level courses at an accredited university prior to admission to 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ may be eligible for transfer credit.
Transfer credit and course equivalencies for work completed at another institution prior to admission to 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ must be determined by the end of the first term of study.
Steps to apply for transfer credit from another university
- Check whether the course in question has been previously approved through 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's . If not, acquire the course syllabus and submit a course equivalency request. If it was previously deemed equivalent but the decision has expired, request reassessment via the Course Equivalency System.
If you are seeking to evaluate ³Ù³ó°ù±ð±ðÌý³¦´Ç³Ü°ù²õ±ð²õ for one or more equivalencies (e.g. MATH 1XX + MATH 2XX + MATH 3XX = AEMA 310), you cannot use the Course Equivalency System. Provide the instructor of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ course with detailed course outlines of the external courses you completed and ask that they be evaluated for equivalency. Complete the top portion of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Course Equivalency Application form and ask the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ instructor to sign the form if your courses are deemed equivalent. Have your program advisor sign as well, then send the completed form to saoadvisor.macdonald [at] mcgill.ca for processing.
- Once all relevant courses have been approved for equivalency, fill out the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Transfer Credit Request form. Email the completed form to saoadvisor.macdonald [at] mcgill.ca for processing.
- Ensure your previous university sends your official transcript directly to 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ to finalize the credit transfer process.
