All program administrators strongly encourage trainees to communicate with the local coordinator at least three weeks prior to the rotation so that information relevant to their stay is exchanged.
It is also an opportunity for supervisors to learn more about the trainee’s expectations and to tailor the schedule to their interests. It is for this reason that certain sites have prepared a form which they send to trainees before their arrival to collect useful information in preparation for the trainee’s rotation. See the example attached: Information card on traineeÌý°Ú.±è»å´Ú±Õ
Useful information to transmit to trainees before their arrival:
- Lodging: type of lodging, where to collect the keys, address, apartment instructions, furnishings provided, etc. (example of instructions and regulations of the CSSS La Pommeraie)
- First day logistics: time, place, department, who to ask for, dress code, material to bring.
- Transportation: directions to the apartment and the hospital, public transportation, etc.
- Useful list:Â grocery stores, pharmacies, cultural activities and sporting venues in the area.
- Other information: statutory holidays, meals, available parking at the hospital/clinic, library, and access to computers/internet.
