The Mining Engineering Co-op program allows co-op students alternate study terms with work terms and graduate with one year of relevant, paid work experience. This hands-on journey helps you navigate the job market, apply your talents to real-world challenges, and learn more about yourself in the process.
What is Co-operative Education?
Work Integrated Learning. Students in the mining engineering co-op program complete three or four, 4-month-long, paid work-terms in research or industrial settings worldwide doing work related to their program. Students submit required assignments and obtain two university credits upon successful completion.
Field Trips
Our first year mining engineering students have the opportunity to visit a mine site either open pit or underground and a concentrator in Val d'Or or Sudbury. They have visited mining companies such as Eldorado Gold, Agnico Eagle and Vale to name a few.
