Dear members of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ community,
Changes were introduced last week to the Programme de l’expérience québécoise (PEQ) that will affect access to the accelerated program for certain international graduates and academic staff wishing to apply for permanent residence via the Quebec immigration process.
We understand that current international students, postdoctoral fellows, professors and researchers will continue to have access to the PEQ. We are concerned, however, that the reform will make it significantly more difficult for many future international students and academic staff to access the program, with negative consequences for Quebec.
Accordingly, 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ is collaborating with the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire, an association to which all Quebec universities belong, in discussions with the Government on this issue.
We will share any additional information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Christopher P. Manfredi
Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic)
