Reappointment of the Dean of the Faculty of Law

December 11, 2020

Dear members of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ community:

It is my pleasure to announce the reappointment of Professor Robert Leckey as Dean of the Faculty of Law, for a second five-year term beginning July 1, 2021.

An Advisory Committee reviewed Dean Leckey’s achievements to date, considered comments from the community, and conducted a 360-degree leadership assessment with direct reports and members of senior administration. Based on this review, the Committee interviewed Dean Leckey about specific goals, commitments and expectations for a second term.

Following this extensive performance evaluation and meetings with the Advisory Committee, I was pleased to recommend the reappointment of Dean Leckey to the Principal. The Principal presented her positive recommendation to the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Board of Governors, which accepted it at its meeting on December 10, 2020.

In its review of Prof. Leckey’s leadership, the Advisory Committee noted the Faculty of Law’s strong international reputation for its highly distinctive, critical, and pluralist approach to legal research. During his first term as Dean, the Faculty maintained a focus on its core integrated programs, which give students a deep foundation for a lifetime of legal practice in a rapidly changing world.

Please join me in congratulating Prof. Leckey on his reappointment. Thank you to the members of the Advisory Committee, and to everyone in the community who shared their comments and advice during the reappointment process.

With best regards,

Professor Christopher Manfredi

Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic)
