Francine Granner

BSW Field Placement Coordinator

Francine Granner (BSW, MSW, 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ) has long appreciated the centrality of field placement learning in the formation of professional social workers. With Graduate Certificates in Loss and Bereavement and Advanced Group Work Practice, Francine’s career at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ commenced as the co-coordinator and one of the group facilitators of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Centre for Loss and Bereavement. Francine simultaneously was a lecturer teaching Introduction to Practice and co-teaching the Group Work and Loss & Bereavement courses. Since 2000, Francine has functioned in the role of Field Education Coordinator, initially matching both BSW and MSW students. Ìý

Since 2008 Francine has been the BSW Field Education Coordinator meticulously matching ÌýBSW students with their areas of interest for field placement training. Her infectious enthusiasm about field placement learning and rich knowledge of the skills and expertise unique to each field placement, positioned Francine to develop, organize and facilitate seminars for Field Instructors who oversee our student learning. ÌýThroughout her years in practice, Francine has developed important and valuable connections with field partners within the health and social services network and community organizations.

MSW Field Placement Coordinator

Nicole is a graduate of the BSW and MSW program at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ School of Social Work. She also has a degree in Special Care Counselling (Éducation Spécialisée) and has worked with a wide variety of population groups (Indigenous communities, homeless populations, older adults, etc.).

In Nicole’s view, field education is an essential part of developing a clinical mind and forming a professional identity. She is the field coordinator for the QYMSW and MSW students.
