Technological advances enabling increasingly detailed characterizations of  the genetic and genomic abnormalities in tumours generate rich multidimensional data, including mRNA expression, proteomic expression, epigenetic characterizations as well as genetic data. Furthermore, these data are increasingly available at the single cell level. Researchers in this theme are developing new ways of analysing these data; such methods of analysis then lead to improved understanding of how tumours develop, evolve, and respond to treatment.
