Institute of Health Sciences Education
The 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) promotes excellence and scholarship across the continuum of health sciences education. More specifically, the IHSE conducts research and scholarly work in health sciences education; ensures that research advances the field of health sciences education and informs educational practice; supports interest in educational research and development; encourages innovation and excellence in teaching and learning; an offers educational programs and capacity building for future leaders in health sciences education. Members of the IHSE include clinicians, educators and researchers from diverse health science backgrounds and disciplines.
Continuing Professional Development
The mission of the Center for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ is to provide life-long CME for physicians and other health-care workers. 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ CME offers web-based content, courses and conferences to help physicians remain up-to-date. As well, CME assists physicians in arranging individual learning activities (preceptorships) to address specific learning needs.
Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning
The Centre - the largest and most important facility of its kind in Canada - combines training techniques from high-risk professions in aviation and emergency response with the latest medical simulation technologies. Fully intergrated into 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's professional programs, the Centre provides the next generation of doctors, nurses and physiotherapists with hands-on training in difficult and potentially dangerous procedures without risk to patients.
RUIS 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ
RUIS (Réseau Universitaire Intégré de Santé) 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ has the responsibility to coordinate tertiary health care services, teaching and research to its affiliated regions, which include central and western Montreal, the western part of the Montérégie, Outaouais, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, the Cree territories, James Bay and Nunavik. These territories represent a population of 1.7 million. This service is provided through the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's associated teaching hospitals.
Teaching and Learning Services
Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) promotes and supports the ongoing development and enhancement of teaching and learning at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. The TLS team collaborates with professors, departments, faculties and fellow teaching support units to create adaptable and innovative learning environments in which outstanding teaching is recognized and rewarded.
