The Epilepsy Research Group investigatesÌýnew diagnostic techniques for epilepsy, which also provide a better understanding of the mechanisms of how epilepsy is generated and evolves.
The multidisciplinary group includes 3 basic scientists, 2 clinician-scientists, and 7 clinicians, working together to investigate new diagnostic techniques for epilepsy, which also provide a better understanding of the mechanisms of how epilepsy is generated and evolves.
- Main areas of research include epilepsy diagnosis and prognosis, comorbidities of epilepsy, and animal models of epilepsy.
- Main research approaches include neurophysiology (clinical, experimental), neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, and neuromodeling.
- Collaborating with other groups within The Neuro, including Neuroimaging & Neuroinformatics, Neural Circuits, and Cognitive Neuroscience.
- Join forces and leverage the know-how of the Institution to build the first large-scale, multidimensional open access database for epilepsy coordinated via the 2021 founded Neuro Centre of Excellence in Epilepsy.
